Ipsos is a survey site. You earn money for filling in surveys. What happens is that Ipsos look for people of certain profiles and then send them e-mails with links to surveys based on whether they seem to fit the required profile. When you recieve an e-mail, you click on the link and are taken to the survey. Assuming you aren’t screened out (the first few questions normally check to see if you really are of the right profile), then you complete the survey and are awarded an amount of points which are added to your Ipsos account.
You build points up in your Ipsos account and then you can spend them on a variety of different gift vouchers, including WHSmiths, Boots, Argos, John Lewis, Arcadia and Leisure vouchers. You can choose from different denominations, and the more points you save, the more you can get, for example a £2 gift voucher will cost you 350 points, a £5 gift voucher will cost you 750 points and a £10 gift voucher 1380 so as you can see it’s worth saving your points for a little longer and going for larger gift vouchers if you can.

Ciao Surveys was originally part of Ciao. It’s now been separated off and is run totally seperately with your income building up separately as well. Once you’ve filled in your profile, you will be sent invitations by e-mail to complete surveys and earn money.
Surveys can have a cash reward from 10p up to £5 according to the site, but I’ve personally never seen one over £2.50 in value.
When you have reached a balance in your Ciao Surveys account of £5 or more, you can request a payout. The method of payment that both Ciao and Ciao Surveys use is BACS transfer, so the money will go direct into your bank account. Payments are made at the end of the month for the previous month, so if you make a request for payment in April, you will recieve it at the end of May.
Ciao surveys has a referral scheme where you can earn £1 for each member that you refer to the site. You will be paid the £1 into your account when your friend has completed their first survey.

Valued Opinions is a survey site. They send surveys by e-mail, and then when you fill them in, you get credited an amount of money which is added to your Valued Opinions account. The surveys vary in length and the payments vary in size accordingly, so a very short survey might only net you 50p, but a longer survey might pay you £2.
When you have built up £10 or more in your account you can choose from a variety of gift certificates including HMV, Boots, Tesco, Amazon, John Lewis, Topshop and many more.
It is important with this site to keep your profile up to date, this way you are more likely to be sent relevant surveys when they occur. When you fill in surveys, you are also entered into quarterly prize draws where the prize is £250.

Toluna used to be called Test & Vote, but has now changed it’s name to reflect the company that owns it. Test and Vote was a more sensible name in my opinion as that’s what it’s all about. You can sign up to test products (though people rarely seem to be sent anything to test), and you can vote on lots of different subjects on the polls on the website and write about things there and create your own polls too. As well as these things – most of which earn you points, you’ll also be sent surveys via e-mail which can earn you lots of points.
Toluna works on a points system. You earn points for doing different things on the site as I’ve mentioned, and then you can save your points up and spend them on a variety of different things. There are a number of different gift vouchers that you can choose from, including Amazon, Sainsburys, HMV and CD Wow, and you also have the option to convert points into tickets for various prize draws that they run throughout the year.

Media Transfera survey site where you can earn MT’s. MT’s are the points that Media Transfer allocates you for completing a survey. When you have 100 MT’s in your Media Transfer account you can request a payout and you will recieve an Amazon.co.uk gift voucher to the value of £16.
When there is a survey available to you, an e-mail is sent asking you to log into the site and telling you which survey they’d like you to complete and how many MT’s you will receive for doing so. The site doesn’t seem to send out many surveys, but it is reliable and when you request a payment, the vouchers arrive within just a few days.

Pure Profile is for the most part a survey site. They are slightly different to most in terms of how they lay the site out, but essentially, this is what they are. Normally what happens is that you receive an e-mail, and click on the link in it to be taken to a survey. If you complete the survey successfully, then you earn the full amount, if you don’t fit the profile that they are looking for, you receive a small credit as a thank you for taking the time to try to complete it. This is a nice touch as many survey sites don’t award you anything unless you are part of their target group and complete the survey.
Payout from Pure Profile is via cheque at £25 which seems quite high, but is actually very reachable as many of their surveys that they send out are worth £1 and upwards, and if you happen to have a profile that they’re looking for, you can recieve several surveys a month quite easily.
Another advantage with this site is that you can also refer friends to the site and earn money for doing so. When your friend joins the site and starts earning money, you also earn money from them. For every £5 that they earn, you earn £1 up to a total of £5 per referral.

Its Your View is a site where you complete surveys and earn points for doing so. 1 point = £1 and when you have 50 points (i.e. £50) you will recieve a cheque for £50. They do a payment run once a month at the end of the month, so you may have to wait a week or two for your money to arrive, but not too long.
The surveys are commissioned by various companies and are mostly about consumer goods or shopping. It tends to work out that you’ll get 1 point (£1) for every 5 minutes of length of the survey – that’s based on the average time taken.
You need to be a UK resident over 16 to join this site.
When a survey is available for you to complete, Its Your View send you out an e-mail with a link in it so that you can go direct to the survey to complete it.

YouGov is a survey site. It’s been around for a good number of years and I’ve been a member since about 2003. It pays you for every survey you do, and the money builds up in your yougov account until you have £50 at which point they send you a cheque. Most surveys you get between 50p and £1 for, and £50 sounds like a lot to have to reach, but it’s not as bad as it sounds, and although it normally takes me most of a year to reach that point, I’ve found it very worth while over the years.
You can also refer your friends to yougov as well. When they join, you get a percentage of what they earn for the first few months of their membership, so it’s worth refering your friends and encouraging them to do the surveys and earn money as well.
When yougov first began it was primarily political surveys that they sent out to people, but these days it’s a mixture of politics and consumer surveys. They’re not always the most interesting surveys, but this is definately one of the most reliable sites and well worth joining.
